Kenyans yesterday registered mixed results as the curtains fell on the 23rd edition of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) games here in Morogoro, Tanzania.
Kesogon Mixed Senior School bagged their second regional girls' gong after an emphatic win against compatriots St Martha’s Mwitoti in a final match played at the Morogoro Teachers Training College.
While the Kenyan girls ruled, ACK Chepsaita went down fighting against Uganda’s Namugongo Secondary and Vocational College to settle for silver as Kenya surrendered the boys’ volleyball title won by Cheptil in 2025.
Keen to end their year on a high after dominating local rivals, Kesogon continued with their good run, lifting the regional gong without dropping a set.
Kesogon coach John Marani was over the moon, saying they had accomplished their objectives for the year.
“I’m very happy that we met all our 2026 targets. When we won silver at both the national and East Africa games last year we started preparing for this year’s championships and also set goals and I’m glad that our efforts have paid off," said Marani.
Going against familiar opponents, Kesogon were favourites on paper and court, having dominated their peers from the Zonal level back home to the East Africa final.
