Lead image for Duale defends Kenya Kwanza health reforms, UHC programme.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has defended the Kenya Kwanza administration’s health reforms, saying significant progress has been made in improving access to medicines, equipment and healthcare workers despite a difficult transition to the new health system.
Speaking during the Health Summit, Duale said the reforms had been sustained over the past four years.
He announced that the Government was preparing to give Kenyans a full account of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) programme, branded Taifa Care.
The CS said the Government would provide details on payments, contributions and outcomes under the programme during a town hall meeting scheduled for tonight.
Duale identified medicines, medical equipment and human resources as three key areas directly under the Ministry of Health, saying progress had been made in each.
