The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal has temporarily stopped the Registrar of Political Parties from registering any political party under the name Linda Mwananchi or any similar variation.
The order followed an application by the National Democratic Alliance, which is associated with the opposition movement led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
The tribunal directed that the registration process remain frozen pending determination of the dispute, complicating efforts by the ODM breakaway group to secure Linda Mwananchi as its political vehicle ahead of the 2027 election.
