Intelligence report says at least 500 youths were mobilised for Homa Bay violence

An intelligence report says at least 500 youths were mobilised to barricade roads and prevent members of the Linda Mwananchi movement from entering Homa Bay Town.

Police reportedly recovered about 500 machetes and other crude weapons believed to have been distributed to youths involved in the clashes.

The DCI is investigating how the youths were recruited, armed, transported and deployed.

Investigators are also examining possible financiers and organisers.
