Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a brazen home invasion in Chiga, Kisumu East Sub-County, days after CCTV footage of the violent robbery circulated widely on social media and triggered public outrage.
The arrests followed what police described as a meticulously coordinated, intelligence-led operation conducted by detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), Nyanza, in collaboration with officers from Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Kisumu East.
“The operation began at Kisumu Rotary College, where detectives arrested Reagan Otieno Silvester, whom investigators believe was among the three men captured on CCTV during the July 30, 2026 robbery,” the DCI report stated.
According to investigators, Mr Otieno is the suspect seen carrying a stolen 55-inch Hisense television from one of the houses during the raid.

Police said Mr Otieno later led detectives to the Rabour area in Kadibo Sub-County, where another suspect, Mohamed Ramadhan alias Moha, is believed to have been hiding.
When officers arrived at the location, they arrested Christopher Onyango Okoth and Fidel Omondi Were. However, Mr Ramadhan managed to evade arrest after scaling a perimeter wall and fleeing, prompting a fresh manhunt.
A subsequent search of Mr Ramadhan’s rented house in Nyang’ande led to the recovery of an imitation firearm resembling a pistol hidden beneath a bed, along with several SIM cards believed to be of investigative value.
