
Lead image for Kenyan country music fans to host tribute to legendary Dolly Parton.
Country music fans will be at the Let’s Go Country music show next Friday at The Legend Karen.
During the show at the Karen Shopping Centre, fans are expected to pay tribute to the legendary country musician Dolly Parton, who passed away earlier this week.
The country music icon will be remembered for some of her great songs, such as I will always Love You, Just because I’m a woman and Joelene.
For fans of Bango music at the coast, veteran Mzee Ngala Mwenyewe and his Bango Sounds perform every Wednesday at the Club Legend Kitoko 2.0 in Mtwapa, Kilifi County. Shows start at 7pm.
Mzee Ngala, considered one of the main proponents of Bango music, is known for some of his great Bango songs like Teusi, Naitaka Bango, Mgeni Wangu, Mama Emmy and Kadzo wa Malindi.
His son Jimmy Ngala is also a Bango musician backed by the Asili Band. They also perform at various spots including weddings and other social functions. Meanwhile, the Club Legend Kitoko 2.0 also hosts Rhumba Mature Night every Saturday with Ricky Mulolo and the Idologia Musica band.
Shows start at 7pm.
Elsewhere in Kitale today it will be the Chillout Parties- Live R nB Old School Experience at the Kitale Golf Club by Sanaipei Tande. To thrill revelers will be DJs Knitspin, Iann and Lunah. Show will be hosted by MC The Presenter. Dress code is old school.
