The once hyped Green Park Terminus project that was supposed to transform and to decongest Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) is under the supervision and management of people allegedly connected to top leadership of the county government.
According to the investigations by the daily Nation, the park, which cost taxpayer’s Sh250 million during the reign of the defunct Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS), is under the control of the youths who are well-connected to top leadership in the county.
“Those people there are known in the corridors of City Hall. They are working for some people to manage the park by collecting the money from buses and vehicles which come to park into the terminus,” an officer at City Hall told the Daily Nation.

During the investigation, it appeared that those who collected the money were not Nairobi City County attendants in charge of parking within the city and would accept any amount of money from motorists in the event that they refuse to pay Sh300 for parking.
“Lipa bwana, hauwezitoka hivyo. Tumekuchungia gari kuanzia asubuhi,” one of the youths controlling the area said.
