Raxio Group has appointed Dennis Kahindi as its General Manager for Uganda, as the data centre operator expands its footprint across Africa to meet the increasing demand for digital infrastructure.
- Kahindi brings more than two decades of leadership experience across Uganda's technology and telecommunications sectors, holding senior roles with Huawei, Microsoft, Oracle, Liquid Intelligent Technologies and Airtel Uganda.
- Raxio recently surpassed US$380 million in committed capital, backed by shareholders Roha and Meridiam alongside financing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Proparco and the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund (EAAIF).
- Its operations now span Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire and Angola, and development is underway in Tanzania.
"What attracted me to Raxio is that it is singularly focused on building something no one else has achieved at this scale: a truly pan-African digital infrastructure platform," said Kahindi. "Raxio has built unique expertise by concentrating solely on digital infrastructure across Africa, and that's a powerful advantage for our customers."
With governments and businesses placing increased importance on retaining critical data and digital services securely within their own countries, advanced data centres have become essential infrastructure for national development, supporting everything from online banking to healthcare, education and digital government services.
