NAIROBI, Kenya –24th August, 2026 - The American Chamber of Commerce Kenya (AmCham Kenya) is honored to announce that H.E. Dr. William Ruto, CGH, President of the Republic of Kenya, will serve as the Chief Guest at the AmCham Business Summit, taking place on September 9–10, 2026, at the Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, Nairobi.

President Ruto's participation underscores the Government of Kenya's commitment to fostering a competitive investment climate and deepening commercial ties between Kenya, the United States, and the wider East African region.

The two-day Summit will convene senior government and business leaders from the U.S. and East Africa to explore investment opportunities across seven strategic sectors: agriculture, digital economy, energy & infrastructure, manufacturing, health, critical minerals, and the creative economy. The program will feature high-level policy dialogues, sector-focused investment sessions, business-to-government engagements, and curated B2B matchmaking designed to accelerate trade, investment, and strategic partnerships.

Susan Burns, Chargé d'Affaires, U.S. Embassy Kenya, spoke to the strength of the bilateral relationship: "The United States and Kenya share a strong and growing commercial partnership, built on a shared commitment to innovation, investment, and real prosperity for both Kenyans and Americans. The Summit brings our business communities together to build partnerships and advance shared priorities, and with H.E. President Ruto's participation, we look forward to a Summit that strengthens our ties and turns regional opportunity into tangible outcomes for economic growth.”

"President Ruto's participation is a strong signal to investors that Kenya is ready to compete for capital," said Angela Ng'ang'a, Board President, AmCham Kenya. "Public-private collaboration is what turns policy intent into a predictable investment environment. This Summit is where Kenya, the United States, and East Africa translate dialogue into commitments that advance mutual economic prosperity."

The Summit is co-convened by AmCham Kenya and the U.S. Embassy in Kenya, and co-hosted with the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry. Strategic partners include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Invest Kenya, USTDA, and regional AmCham chapters from Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

Building on the success of previous editions, which have facilitated high-level policy engagement, investment announcements, and strategic business partnerships, the 2026 Summit is expected to generate new commercial opportunities while advancing dialogue on policies that support sustainable economic growth across the region.
