Lead image for EABL to Pay Highest Dividends Since 2003 after Record KSh 18.23bn Profit.
East African Breweries PLC’s net profit jumped 49.4% to a record KSh 18.23Bn in the year ended June 2026 as a 13% increase in volumes, tighter cost control and lower finance expenses lifted earnings faster than the 13.3% growth in net sales to KSh 145.96Bn.
- Higher volumes contributed KSh 7.0Bn of the KSh 8.3Bn increase in profit before tax, making them the largest earnings driver.
- Price and product mix added KSh 600Mn, cost-of-sales efficiencies contributed KSh 500Mn and lower operating expenses added KSh 300Mn.
- The brewer recommended a final dividend of KSh 8.70 per share which, combined with the KSh 4.00 interim dividend, increases total total DPS by 58.8% to KSh 12.70, the highest annual payout since FY2003.
Mainstream spirits was EABL’s fastest-growing strategic category, expanding 30%, supported by brands including Kenya Cane, Tzee and Uganda Waragi. New categories such as cider, flavoured drinks and ready-to-serve cocktails grew 26%, while beer and premium products each increased 9%.
The profit surpassed EABL’s previous high of KSh 15.57Bn recorded in FY2022.
Earnings attributable to ordinary shareholders rose 59% to KSh 15.02Bn, lifting earnings per share to KSh 18.99 from KSh 11.97.

These gains were partly offset by a KSh 1.5Bn negative foreign-exchange impact. Lower finance costs contributed a further KSh 1.4Bn after net finance expenses declined 24.7% to KSh 4.41Bn.
